I want to setup an online store, what would you recommend ?
We currently recommend CandyPress ASP Shopping cart to all customers, you can either purchase this directly from the www.candypress.com website, or from Kiwihosting.net at a discounted price. Check out some of their testimonials here
Kiwihosting can also provide SSL Certificates if required.
For those on Unix servers you may wish to look into osCommerce, whilst not as easy to use or customise as CandyPress is, we do have several customers using this product.
Shared Hosting accounts may not be appropriate if you are planning on running an eCommerce store as a business or sole source of income and have high availability requirements. Our Shared Hosting provides limited guarantees with respect to server backups and availability which may not be the most suitable platform for eCommerce stores requiring high availability.
Our Reseller plans offer greater flexibility in this area with us being able to setup custom backup jobs for you on request and we also limit the number of users/domains to a much lower number on these servers.
For very large online stores with high availability requirements we recommend you consider a dedicated server, which of course we are happy to provide quotations for on request.
