Do you make regular server backups?
Yes we do every 24 hours (exlcuding email) however the backups we make are primarily to enable the restoration of the servers operating system. All user content is backed up at the same time but we do not guarantee the availability of this content.
Virtually all of the servers we use have Raid (Mirrored Disk) of one form or another so a system disk failure does not usually result in the need to rebuild a server from the ground up. User content drive failure ie the drive containing your websites files will generally require several hours of restore work to be conducted before the server is available again.
We strongly recommend you take your own backups as and when you feel necessary, only consider relying on our backup procedures as an absolute worst case scenario, we do not make any guarantees that any backup made by Kiwihosting.net is suitable for anything other than our own recovery purposes, the backup and rentention of user content is the end users responsibility this includes web, email and databases content.
A fee of $50 US will apply if you wish to request us to try and restore a file(s) from our backups for you.
