Try using FTP Active mode (disable passive) or vice versa. Generally Passive mode (PASV) should work best with our servers and cause fewer problems.

Also make sure any firewall software you have on your local PC isn't blocking your FTP program or the standard FTP TCP ports (20 and 21).
