Check if the *.asp or *.aspx files are not included in the SSI section. It's a common mistake. If you set *.asp or *.aspx to be launched via SSI accidently then set ASP and/or ASP.NET to OFF, delete the extension(s) from the SSI settings and then switch ASP and/or ASP.NET back on again.
